A broadband connection is highly recommended for making music purchases and required for making video purchases or rentals. 31 Jul 2009The iTunes Store features a purchase option called “iTunes Allowance.” An iTunes Allowance allows you to send a monthly iTunes Store credit to a family member, friend, or colleague in an amount from $10 USD to $50 USD. iTunes Allowance is a form of store credit. Each month, your chosen amount will be automatically added to your recipient’s iTunes Store account. The full allowance amount will be charged to your credit card on the first of each month (you aren’t charged based on your recipient’s usage). Unused allowance credit rolls over from month to month until the recipient spends it.

31 Jul 2009As with many other merchants, the iTunes Store places an authorization hold on your credit-card account for the approximate amount of any purchase you make. Similarly, if you update your billing information, the iTunes Store will place an authorization hold on your credit-card account, usually in the amount of 1 USD, to verify your account information.
