For anyone trying to navigate Lollapalooza 2009, one of the biggest music festivals in the U.S, running August 7-9 in Grant Park, Chicago, Jim Dalrymple (www.loopinsight.com) reports that there are several iPhone apps for that.

Of course, this is still all just tests and demos — not only is the company likely still trying to see partners and funding (like so many other development companies in this field), but until Apple actually lets developers at a clear, unedited stream from the videocamera, AR is still in the theoretical phase

The first-person shooter hasn’t quite been ported yet. Instead, they’ve released a ” Call of Duty: World at War companion,” which instead lets you track the activity on the popular World War II shooter game.

A new player is about to enter the arena: Netflix itself, who intends to bring “Watch Instantly” video streaming to the iPhone/iPod touch and the Nintendo Wii. At present Netflix streams over 12,000 movies and TV shows over a large variety of devices including Intel-based Macs . They’ve joined up with ngmoco and their Plus+ system for all of their games , including Flick Bowling , Flick Fishing , and Moto Thunder . The first Freeverse game to use the system (which allows players to earn points across games, track friends’ playing habits, and vie for the tops of leaderboards) will be an upcoming title called Warpgate , and then it’ll be ported back to the already-released games as well
