Apple today announced the new iTunes for Mac and PC, featuring a redesigned player, seamless integration with iCloud, and a new look for the world’s most popular online music, apps, TV, and movie stores.
Apple has posted a video of the iPhone 5 media event on its website. The video should be made available soon on Apple’s YouTube channel , as well as its Apple Keynotes Podcast on the iTunes Store

Apple announced a new version of iTunes at today’s media event featuring a “dramatically simpler” interface with an edge-to-edge design. We created iTunes because we love music and we’re going back to our roots with an incredibly clean design that keeps your music at the forefront,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “The new iTunes works seamlessly with iCloud, always keeping your entire library at your fingertips, and we’re adding great new features that make listening to your music more fun. The updated media application will show albums in a grid interface with song listings unfolding below the album cover art when clicked
Apple is holding a media event today at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, where it appears set to introduce the iPhone 5, updated iPods, and a brand-new version of iTunes. The event is scheduled to kick off at 10:00 AM Pacific Time / 1:00 PM Eastern Time. With Apple having prematurely confirmed the “iPhone 5″ name in search results on its website, users have been scrambling to try to find evidence of additional announcements today. Several other press release links have been found indicating that Apple will be releasing an updated version of iTunes, as well as new iPod touch and iPod nano models. One search pulls up results for both the iPhone 5 and new iTunes press releases, while a second search reveals a link to a “New iTunes” page on apple.com
As promised, Google has introduced a native YouTube app for iPhone. We had previously reported that Apple will be removing the dedicated YouTube app from iOS 6 which is due to be released in the near future. At the time, Google promised that a native iOS app was in the works. YouTube had previously been one of the built-in iOS apps since the original iPhone launch
Photo by Luis Gutierrez, Developer of Super Apps Apple has finished decorating the front facade of the Yerba Buena center in preparation for their September 12th media event. Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 5 at that event. At initial glance, the front decoration seems to show no obvious clues as to their announcements. However, one eagle eyed MacRumors forum visitor believes the facade show stretched iOS icons.
In mid-July, Japanese blog Macotakara claimed that Apple has been undertaking a significant redesign of the iPod nano , moving to an oblong form factor with a larger, rectangular screen and a home button. As shown in a rough rendering accompanying the post, the changes would make the iPod nano appear more like a smaller version of the iPod touch, although it would presumably not run a full version of iOS. Reports of a revamped iPod nano have continued to surface since that time, with Macotakara also adding fresh claims that the new iPod nano will include Wi-Fi capabilities in order to support iTunes in the Cloud.
The outside of the box said "Windows base machine or better", so I bought a Mac.
