I’m sure that there are many of you out there just like me, it seems like there is an endless amount of email that is difficult to keep organized. Luckily, Apple Mail has a feature called Smart Mailboxes to help keep things nice and neat. This will allow you to still look at your email the same way, say with a few different accounts all shown as one, but it allows you to set certain parameters that will have the program automatically sort through emails for you. I’m just going to take you through a quick run through here. Feel free to try it and if you don’t like it you can simply right click and click delete to get rid of it.

So the first thing we need to do is find out where to set one up.
-Go ahead and click on Mailbox at the top of the screen and go down to New Smart Mailbox.

This will bring up the screen below. This will give you the option to name the folder whatever you like. You can see there are options to include messages from the trash and sent folders as well.

So now lets fill in some parameters. You have the option to name the folder whatever you like and I chose Example for this article. As you can see in the picture below, there are a ton of parameters you are able to sort through to make your mailbox as vague or as specific as you want.

You will see there is a plus and minus symbol on the right side of the parameters - that is so you can add and subtract new parameters from your smart mailbox.

When you are done, simply click OK. This will create the smart mailbox in the left pane of Mail and if you click on it, it will have included all emails that were set to your parameters. And there you go, finally an email box that is organized and shows you only what you are looking for. You can create as many of these mailboxes as you want.
