Filed under: Software , iPhone , App Store , Road Tested Like my colleague Mel Martin , I’ve had a serious GPS jones for quite a while. When I was in much better shape, I rode the local trails on a mountain bike with a Garmin eTrex Summit. It didn’t have any maps, nor did I really need any for what I was doing. 21 Jun 2009Filed under: How-tos , Tips and tricks , iPhone This happened to me last time I upgraded from my original iPhone to the 3G. I went to check messages, and instead of seeing the list of people who called, the phone simply dialed the voicemail number. The solution this time is the same as last time. Go to the AT&T web site, log in, and under Phone, Device Support you’ll see an option to ‘Reset Voicemail Password.’ Go ahead and do that, and AT&T will send you a text message with a temporary password

While this is cheaper than the $70 rumor that’s been making the rounds, it still strikes me as ridiculous that AT&T is charging additional money for this option in the first place.

17 Jun 2009Filed under: iPhone It’s no secret that I didn’t mind AT&T’s pricing of their 3G S upgrades. However, 3G owners were upset that they were not offered the same discounts as new customers or those who had not fulfilled their two-year contracts

The outside of the box said "Windows base machine or better", so I bought a Mac.
