After updating to iTunes 9.0.3, when you try to download an item from the iTunes Store or authenticate purchases, you may see an alert stating “Error 42408″ or “Error 42404.”

Apple today announced that music fans have purchased and downloaded over 10 billion songs from the iTunes Store, the world’s most popular online music, TV, and movie store.

Playlists with songs purchased from the iTunes Store cannot be burned to an MP3 format CD. When you try to burn an MP3 format CD using a playlist that only has songs purchased from the iTunes Store, this message appears: “None of the items in this playlist can be burned to disc.” When you try to burn an MP3 format CD using a playlist that has a mix of songs purchased from the iTunes Store and songs encoded from audio CDs, the burn begins, but the songs purchased from the iTunes Store appear dimmed in the playlist, and are not burned to the disc.

You can download or transfer content you purchase from the iTunes Store to various locations. The locations you can choose will vary by content and where you initiate the download. For example, purchases you make using your computer must be completely downloaded to your computer before you can sync the item to your iPhone, iPod, or Apple TV.   Please review the following tables for specific information on downloading and syncing purchases.

With Apple TV software version 2.0 or later, you can now purchase many of your favorite TV shows, movies, music, and music videos from the iTunes Store on your widescreen TV. Note: Some content types are not available in some iTunes Store countries.

You may experience a situation in which songs will play normally, but all video files play without audio. This will affect video files purchased from the iTunes Store as well as other movies you’ve added to iTunes.

When using iTunes, you may experience the below alert (ending in “-42023″) when downloading purchases from the iTunes Store.
