Customers that use MobileMe to sync calendars with Microsoft Outlook may find that when using iTunes for Windows to sync calendars to an iPhone the sync process may not complete. The “Syncing calendars with iPhone” progress bar remains in the iTunes window.

In the Sync pane in MobileMe System Preferences, there is an option named “Show status in menu bar.” This option activates or deactivates the Sync menu extra. When you activate this menu extra, you can sync certain items from the Mac OS X menu bar, monitor sync status, and access advanced features like Sync Diagnostics.

If you encounter issues while syncing, MobileMe sync log files can provide good clues as to the nature of your issue. Also, if you contact MobileMe Support, you may be asked for a copy of your sync logs for troubleshooting purposes.

You may need to reset the SyncServices folder if you are: Unable to open iSync in a particular Mac OS X user account. Unable to click the Sync pane in MobileMe Preferences (in System Preferences).

When syncing a portable home directory for a mobile user account, if the sync is interrupted due to network connectivity issues, or if the system goes to sleep while syncing, future syncs appear to complete even though data is not actually copied to the user’s network home directory.
