13 Oct 2009In Xsan Admin 2.2, computers may be reported as having an “Incorrect search policy” if the Directory Service search policy on the Xsan node is changed. If Xsan manages your users and groups, or if you chose to connect to an existing Open Directory domain in Server Assistant, then Xsan Admin will monitor the Directory Service search policy on each Xsan node. In these two situations, Xsan Admin expects each nodes’ search policy to contain only the server(s) that Xsan Admin adds to the computers.

28 Aug 2009In Mac OS X Server v10.6, enable FTP access for the share point that houses the home directories, if you want to allow users to access their home directory via FTP. If FTP is not enabled for the share point that houses the Users folder, but is enabled on the server, users will be able to access / , but will not have access to their home directory.

15 Jul 2009The iCal server uses the MD5 Digest authentication method by default. This does not allow Active directory users to log into the iCal server using their Active Directory credentials. It is strongly recommended that Kerberos be configured for Active Directory users. For customers who require a non-Kerberos solution to support Active Directory users, cleartext authentication can be enabled for the iCal service, as described below. For customers who choose to use cleartext authentication, Apple recommends the use of SSL to provide a more secure environment.
